The book of Ruth demonstrates a powerful interplay of God's purposes with human decisions. Although God is hardly mentioned in the story, it is clear that God is at work in the everyday details, decisions and tragedies of life, redeeming them for good. By the end of the book, we are made aware of how the seemingly mundane events of this story are woven together into the story of God’s salvation: a lineage emerges through whom the Messiah will ultimately arrive. Additionally, the book invites us to consider the various ways God might be involved in the ordinary and mundane details of our lives. This series aims to realise how Jesus is our redeemer and how God works to redeem everything.
